I am so incredibly happy you stumbled into my corner of the internet. My name is Tatiana, and this blog is my little digital living room where language learning meets cozy, human connection. My Linguistic Multiverse (The Languages I Swim In) š
I have always had a deep, organic curiosity for how different cultures express the human experience. My brain operates like a massive linguistic supercomputer, juggling a beautiful multiverse of languages. Here is the palette we can play with:
- English & Polish: My foundational roots! I grew up with Polish around the house, giving me a lifelong ear for complex phonetics.
- Spanish: My first true academic love. I hold a Bachelorās degree in Spanish for Specific Purposes and have been accepted into several Spanish Masterās programs.
- Korean, Icelandic, Japanese, & Latin: I have an immense, deep-processing receptive understanding of these languages. I can read tough Icelandic newspapers and parse the Chosun Ilbo without trouble.
Just keeping it rawly honest with you: Because my brain holds such a massive database for these languages, my mouth occasionally experiences a little “output lag” when I speak on camera, and I might accidentally tell you “I am fun and delicious” in Japanese! But that is the beauty of itāI am a “dialect of one,” actively in the trenches of learning right alongside you.
My Teaching Methods: Unleashing Your “Idiolect” š§
I spent nearly 9 years working in the Douglas County School District, so I know my way around a classroom ecosystem. But my tutoring philosophy is entirely non-traditional, highly empathetic, and human-first. (Fun fact: I’m also finishing my Master’s in Thanatology/Death Education, so deep empathy is practically my default setting!)
Here is how a typical lesson looks over a cup of tea:
- Discovering Your Idiolect: You are a complex, multi-dimensional person. I donāt believe in sterile, cookie-cutter textbook drills. We will build lessons around your culture, your background, and your unique personal style.
- Building Sentences From Scratch: We will take concepts from your native language and learn how to organically weave them into your target language, transitioning your brain into a whole new way of thinking.
- A Safe Space for “Creative Mistakes”: Mistakes are not failures; they are art! I provide an incredibly gentle, neurodivergent-friendly environment where we can laugh through the stumbles together. High schoolers are especially welcome hereāI promise no overwhelming “elementary school energy,” just relaxed, authentic mentorship.
Accessible Pricing: The Sliding Scale šø
I believe that language learning should be an accessible bridge, not a financial wall. Because of this, I operate on a sliding scale system, with lessons typically averaging around $20 USD each.
We can meet locally in the safest, coziest spotsālike neighborhood coffee shops or librariesāor we can hop on a scheduled video call via Google Meet. I want our sessions to feel sustainable for your life and your wallet.
